Service Description

Course Duration: 2.5 hours plus mandatory pre-work. Pre-work is required. If online mandatory pre-work is not completed prior to the course date, students will not be permitted to enter the class and will not receive certification. On successful completion of this course, you will be issued a statement of attainment in: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation As per the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, resuscitation (CPR) skills (HLTAID009) are renewed every 12 months. This course covers the following: - DRSABCD action plan and responding to emergency situations - Managing unconscious breathing casualties - Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - Using a defibrillator (AED) - Legal issues in first aid - Infection control We use a range of different methods to assess you, including written assessments and practical activities. You will be required to demonstrate CPR on a manikin on the floor. You may need to pair up with another student to complete the practical exercises.
