Delivery Mode
Silica Awareness training is delivered face-to-face in a classroom environment through structured, trainer-led instruction combined with interactive learning activities.
The course includes theoretical content and practical discussions to ensure participants understand the risks of crystalline silica exposure and required control measures in the workplace.
Training is delivered in accordance with relevant industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Students must attend the full session and actively participate in all learning and assessment activities to successfully complete the course and receive certification.
Assessment Requirements
To successfully complete Silica Awareness training, students must demonstrate understanding of course content through knowledge-based assessment and participation in trainer-led activities.
Assessment methods include:
A written or verbal knowledge assessment (e.g. multiple-choice questions)
Participation in workplace safety discussions and hazard identification activities
Students must demonstrate sufficient understanding of crystalline silica risks, control measures, and safe work practices to achieve competency.
All assessment tasks must be completed satisfactorily to be deemed competent. Where a student is assessed as not yet competent, they may be provided with an opportunity for reassessment in accordance with the training provider’s policies.

USI Requirements (Compulsory requirement)
All students undertaking nationally recognised training must have a USI (Unique Student Identifier) prior to attending our course. If you do not have a USI, you MUST apply for a USI here www.usi.gov.au
Course content:
– Identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work.
– Identify construction hazards and risk control measures.
– Identify health and safety communication and reporting process.
– Identify incident and emergency response procedures.
